Veeva is a cloud computing company that works to find solutions for life sciences software technology, including cloud software.

Having designed Veeva's U.S Headquarters in Pleasanton California and satellite offices in Europe, Brereton was hired to design two floors at 100 Summer Street in Downtown Boston.

Under the company’s “work anywhere” policy, employees can work remotely or in-office on any given day. One exception are new-grad hires in its engineering development program, who are expected to work in the office four days a week for their first two years. To address individual work styles and at the same time create areas for team collaboration, the design team developed the plan to accommodate 7x7 square foot reservable offices for focused heads down work and open collaboration team areas with unassigned benching workstations. The design achieve a 60/40 split between workstations and offices respectfully.

As the office was designed for employees, visiting teams from other Veeva locations, and customers, the reception and first impression space had to be dynamic and welcoming. Color & graphics were dialed up to provide visual stimulation and to further brand identity. The reception area was equipped with a concierge desk and beverage bar and serves as the hub and break out space for the adjacent various size meeting rooms.

Support spaces including wellness rooms, small huddle rooms, and various size meeting spaces are strategically located to break up open office areas to create neighborhoods where grabbing a room for heads down work or a quick meeting are easily accessible.

A central gathering space located to maximize natural light and the best views of downtown Boston functions as break room, game room and meeting space with a full service catering kitchen. The space has the ability to be broken up into three individual rooms providing flexibly for different meeting, working and social functions.
